“Mkhitar Gosh” Armenian-Russian International University received membership in the international association of medical education AMEE in 2019. The cooperation of the “Mkhitar Gosh” Armenian-Russian International University with the International Association for Medical Education (AMEE) creates a unique platform for everyone who is interested in personal and professional growth, getting out of the “comfort zone” as well. We invite you to take an active part in AMEE educational projects at the University, which in turn will serve as a powerful incentive to understand the need for the formation of a “flexible” curriculum, transformations in the methodology of educational processes, implying the active involvement of students and building feedback.
The goal of AMEE is to form a professional community of medical universities abroad (Armenia, India, Europe, etc.), effectively combining the best traditions of domestic education with the latest international practices. This is a prestigious organization that is engaged in improving the quality of medical education, assists the “Mkhitar Gosh” Armenian-Russian International University in quality management, new technologies, etc., also supports teachers of medical disciplines in the development of their own professional qualities. AMEE establishes relationships with higher and secondary medical educational institutions and other government institutions in Armenia. Provides access to information resources in the field of medical education. Assists in the organization of courses dedicated to medical education and the provision of other opportunities to improve the competence of teachers. Assists in organizing local conferences on medical education issues. We will have advantages in connection with cooperation and membership in AMEE on research work in the field of medical education, providing educational courses for basic skills in medical education. The purpose of such courses is to ensure that participants understand the basic principles of evidence-based medical education and transform this understanding into practical skills for use in daily professional activities.
Course objectives: to provide each student with:
- broad information about theory and practice, modern problems in the field of medical education as well,
- the necessary terminology and base that will contribute to professional development,
- technical skills and practical approaches required to fulfill various teacher roles, such as information provider, mentor, educational assessor, curriculum and educational material developer,
- guidance on the application of the approaches described in the course to curriculum design, teaching, learning, assessment, aspects of individual teaching responsibilities as well,
- the ability to critically evaluate the teacher's position and daily practice with a view to applying alternative and evidence-based approaches.
